[ES] Las dificultades son una oportunidad para demostrar de qué estamos hechos. Es como una crisis: la crisis no nos define; únicamente revela de qué estamos hechos.

Y aunque hayamos cometido errores, aunque las cosas no siempre hayan salido como esperábamos, quiero animarles a todos: mantengámonos firmes y erguidos.

Como decía Shakespeare: si te critican por algo y es verdad, corrígelo; pero si es mentira, ignóralo. Vive tu vida. No como una explicación, sino como una afirmación de quién eres.

Atravesamos situaciones como estas porque estamos intentando dar lo mejor de nosotros y hacer realidad nuestros sueños. Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo nos enfrentamos a quienes quieren destruir esos sueños. Hay personas que no sueñan y, precisamente por eso, intentan acabar con los sueños de quienes sí creen que un futuro mejor es posible.

Esto me recuerda a Martin Luther King Jr. cuando dijo: «Tengo un sueño». En otra ocasión expresó unas palabras que siempre me han inspirado profundamente: «Puede que yo no llegue allí con ustedes, pero eso ya no importa».

«He estado en la cima de la montaña. He visto la Tierra Prometida». Pero la frase que más amo es cuando dijo: «Como pueblo, llegaremos allí». Como pueblo, nosotros llegaremos.

Cualquiera que sea la tarea que tengamos por delante, Aquel que nos ha traído hasta aquí también nos ayudará a llegar a nuestro destino.

Permanezcamos unidos. Caminemos en una misma dirección. Tengamos la convicción de que los desafíos más grandes de la vida no llegan para destruirnos, sino para fortalecernos. Todo aquello que enfrentamos hoy tiene el propósito de hacernos mejores.

Y permítanme recordar unas palabras de Maya Angelou, a quien tanto admiro. Ella dijo: «Puedes encontrar muchas derrotas, pero no debes dejarte vencer por ellas». Nunca permitamos que la derrota nos defina.

Las decepciones llegarán; todos lo sabemos. También llegarán las derrotas. Pero, aun en medio de todo ello, el éxito siempre se encuentra al otro lado de la perseverancia.

A veces pasamos demasiado tiempo tratando de agradar a unos y a otros, incluso a personas que ni siquiera se preocupan por nosotros. En cambio, debemos comprometernos con el sueño de nuestro pueblo, un sueño del cual todos formamos parte.

Soñemos juntos. Trabajemos juntos. Avancemos en una misma dirección. Ese sueño llegará a cumplirse. Pero debemos trabajar para lograrlo. Necesitamos un plan. Tenemos un plan y estamos trabajando en él. Ahora corresponde avanzar unidos.

Una vez más, es un privilegio y un honor estar aquí con ustedes para decirles que viven en mi corazón. Y ustedes saben que Dios es bueno.

Trouble is an opportunity to show what we are made of. It is like a crisis. A crisis does not define us; it only reveals what we are made of.

Even when we have made mistakes, even when things have not worked out the way we expected, I want to encourage all of us: let us stand tall.

As Shakespeare said, if you are being criticized for something and it is true, correct it. But if it is a lie, ignore it. Live your life—not as an explanation, but as an exclamation.

We go through situations like these because we are trying to do our best and accomplish our dreams. Yet, on the other side, we are dealing with dream killers—people who do not dream themselves and therefore try to destroy the dreams of those who believe that anything is possible.

This reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr. when he said, “I have a dream.” There is another statement of his that has always inspired me. He said, “I may not get there with you, but it doesn’t matter now.”

“I’ve been to the mountaintop. I’ve seen the Promised Land.” But the phrase I love the most is when he said, “As a people, we will get there.” As a people, we will get there.

Whatever we are doing, the One who brought us this far will also help us reach our destination.

Let us stand together. Let us move in the same direction. Let us believe that the great challenges of life are not meant to break us, but to make us stronger. The things we go through today are shaping us for tomorrow.

And let me also recall the words of Maya Angelou, whom I deeply admire. She said, “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.” Never allow defeat to define who you are.

Disappointments will come—we all know that. Defeats will come. But through it all, success is just on the other side.

Sometimes we spend too much time trying to please people who do not even care about us. Instead, we should remain faithful to the dream of our people—a dream of which each one of us is a part.

So let us dream together. Let us work together. Let us move together in one direction. That dream will come to pass. We must work for it. We need a plan. We have a plan, and we are working on that plan. Now let us move forward together.

Once again, it is my privilege and my honor to be here with you and to tell you that you live in my heart.

God is good.
